The need to shift emphasis in favor of soft skills in the process of teaching law students has been determined. The most in-demand skills of the future have been summarized, which also include presentation skills that contribute to the development of creativity, successful teamwork and critical thinking. Justifying the importance of the formation of soft skills in the process of learning English, the role of presentation as a powerful educational tool has been discussed. The essence of the concept of "presentational skills of future lawyers" has been determined and their classification has been presented. A method of two-stage formation of presentation skills of undergraduate law students has been proposed. The key aspects of the first stage have been highlighted – sufficient formation of students' verbal foreign language skills, preparation of presentations as a monologue, evaluation of the presentation according to such parameters as: information content of the presentation, the principle of minimalism and the quality of the performance.Документ Відкритий доступ Development of students' time management skills during distance education(Дрогобицький державний педагогічний університет імені Івана Франка, 2024) Borkovska, Inna; Antonenko, Inna; Tsepkalo, OleksiyУ статті розглянуто сутність поняття тайм-менеджменту та його значення в розвитку студента як особистості. Навички тайм-менеджменту визначаються як здібності, які дозволяють максимально ефективно використовувати свої можливості під час навчання. Здійснено узагальнення проблем адаптації студентів-першокурсників у новому освітньому середовищі з урахуванням дистанційного навчання. У статті наведено базові складові time management, які повинні працювати комплексно: 1) фіксація реалістичних цілей – довгострокових і короткострокових; 2) організація часу та речей; 3) делегування; 4) релаксація; 5) боротьба з почуттям провини. Досліджено основний компонент тайм-менеджменту – постановка цілей, яка має вирішальне значення для особистого успіху. Обґрунтовано необхідність аналізу свого часу за допомогою таблиць, де студентами складаються довгострокові та короткострокові цілі. Даний поділ дозволяє студентам зорієнтуватися в множині своїх цілей та завдань, визначити пріоритети та стратегію поставлених цілей. У статті обґрунтовано необхідність формування навичок організації речей, та з’ясовано значення делегування відповідальності, під час якої студент може передати вирішення менш значних проблем і відповідальність своїм одногрупникам. Визначено основні завдання релаксації, уточнено поняття «боротьба з почуттям провини» як одного із найскладніших складових time management. В статті також акцентовано увагу на основних перешкодах успішного тайм-менеджменту – прокрастинації та перфекціонізмі. Особливу увагу приділено методам тайм менеджменту, які допомагають студентам ефективно планувати свій час. Продемонстровано можливості розвитку навичок time management за допомогою двоетапного майстер-класу для студентів першого курсу. Теоретична частина проходить на сервісі для організації онлайн-занять, під час якої відбувається ознайомлення студентів із сутністю time management. A key element is involving students in managing their own learning through formative assessment, which fosters self-awareness and responsibility. Various strategies, such as Yes/No Charts, New Clothes, Dos & Don'ts, 3-2-1, and 30-Second Share, facilitate this by enabling students to analyze their progress and provide feedback. The possibilities of using ChatGPT to improve students’ language skills, such as understanding legal terminology, developing critical thinking, argumentation, writing and communication, have been considered. Examples of integration of ChatGPT into the structure of classes, in particular at the stages of ‘warming up,’ reading and writing, have been analysed, and its role as a virtual tutor has been outlined. The aim of the study is to identify effective ways to integrate ChatGPT into the teaching of English to law students, to develop recommendations for teachers and students on its optimal use, and to find ways to overcome potential challenges. Particular attention has been paid to the advantages of using ChatGPT, such as individualised learning, access to a large amount of information and feedback. The authors have described the methods by which ChatGPT can facilitate the creation of simulations of legal discussions, simulated court hearings and legal writing. At the same time, the risks have explored, including the generation of false information, the possibility of student abuse, and challenges to academic integrity. The article has offered recommendations for teachers on the effective use of ChatGPT in the educational process, including the creation of tasks that promote creativity and critical thinking, as well as methods for detecting cases of plagiarism. The article has focused on writing an argumentative essay using ChatGPT as a support tool that allows students to go through all the stages of creating an essay: from brainstorming and researching a topic to editing the final text. ChatGPT promotes the development of precise questioning skills, critical thinking and analytical abilities, helping students to create structured and reasoned essays. The article also emphasizes the role of technology in expanding the scope and precision of corpus studies, allowing for advanced data organization, pattern analysis, and reporting. Computational tools enable researchers to analyze grammatical and lexical features across various registers and contexts. It also explores the benefits of using subcorpora and the application of both qualitative and quantitative methods for reliable linguistic analysis. Overall, the article positions corpus linguistics as a modern, technology-driven discipline that enhances linguistic theory and supports more effective language instruction, especially in professional and academic settings. У новинах передається нова або корисна інформація, тому приділяється багато уваги, щоб навчити студентів розуміти інформацію англомовних новин, так як вони не тільки інформують про події, але й є джерелом формування моделей соціальна поведінка. Вони допоможуть покращити розуміння вимови, а також вивчити нові слова та фрази. Спостерігаючи за процесом, підтримуємо думку про те, що отримання актуальної інформації про останні події підвищує інтерес студентів і мотивацію до розуміння, покращує їхні лінгвістичні здібності.
