    Developing emotional regulation skills in ESP classroom

    In modern education, especially under conditions of instability and crisis, developing students’ emotional regulation skills is increasingly important for ensuring academic persistence, psychological well-being, and professional readiness. This paper addresses the growing need to integrate emotional regulation development into English for Specific Purposes (ESP) instruction and presents a pedagogical framework designed for this purpose. The relevance of such an approach is particularly evident in crisis-affected environments, such as wartime teaching in Ukraine, where students face heightened anxiety and cognitive fatigue that interfere with learning. The literature review demonstrates that emotional regulation is closely connected with cognitive flexibility, resilience, and goal-oriented behaviour, all essential for academic and professional success. Researchers emphasise that these skills can be effectively developed through both direct and indirect strategies embedded in classroom activities. The proposed framework categorises emotional regulation strategies as direct (mindfulness exercises, reflective writing, critical incident analysis) and indirect (role-play simulations, case studies, peer feedback). Applied within scaffolded ESP instruction, these strategies help students build emotional awareness and practise regulating emotions in realistic communicative contexts. The paper also acknowledges limitations related to classroom dynamics, educators’ competencies, and institutional conditions. Further research should focus on long-term outcomes, cultural adaptability of the framework, and the role of digital resources in supporting emotional regulation in diverse and crisis-affected educational settings.

    Digital inclision in education: challenges and benefits

    In recent decades, digitalization in education has steadily increased. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of proper technology resources for teaching and learning. Digital technologies can improve educational equity and inclusion, can enhance learning by providing flexibility in terms of location, timing, and method. According to Directorate for Education and Skills by Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development digital equity and inclusion matters at every level of education, from early childhood, primary, and secondary to higher education. It is also vital for adult education and lifelong learning as society becomes more digitalized (OECD, 2023, p. 7). The aim of this paper is to identify the benefits of Digital Inclusion (DI) in Teaching English for specific purposes.

    The textbook is designed for teaching English to scientific communication, it is aimed at students majoring in humanitarian fields of study who possess the level C1 of English language proficiency according to the All-European Recommendations on language education. It also can be used for teaching master students majoring in social work, public management and administration at universities. The textbook includes practical tasks for classroom work and educational materials for students' self-work, relevant articles and texts, a glossary and a grammar guide, and tasks for the development of communicative strategies necessary for students to effectively participate in academic and professional communication situations.

    Higher education and inclusive education in Technical Universities of Ukraine: ways of development

    The article defines the inclusive education in National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. The requirements for inclusive education are presented. The present study was aimed to investigate the self-realization of the individual, as a future component of success. The author proposes to consider inclusive education as one in which: 1) people of different age groups; 2) people who speak different languages; 3) people who have different types of perception of information. The principles that will provide an analysis of the components of strategic planning and help in addressing issues of inclusive education in particular are explored. The paper outlines the selection of tasks on a certain topic. Each task takes into account the psychological characteristics of the types of perception

    Ukrainian education and its secret of success

    Ukrainian education faced the difficult challenges. The article deals with solutions to problems of teaching English for Specific Purposes in wartime. Attention is drawn to the content of training future specialists in the field of mediation, social workers, administrative management. The necessity of self-assessment is confirmed. It is noted that scientists classify the term “individualization” differently, however, all of them believe that individualization in education allows foreign language teachers in higher education institutions to meet modern requirements of today, and to carry out sufficient educational process. The author examined the emotional state of students from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, the Faculty of Sociology and Law and proposed the Individual-Situational Study. The Individual-Situational Study includes activities, attitudes, affect, knowledge, and resources devoted to supporting students’ development, including confidence and motivation. Although the author convinced that the level of motivation and atmosphere are a necessary condition for successful learning. The importance of the independent mistakes correction is pointed out, its relevance in the light of reforming pedagogical education is proved. Emphasis is placed on the role of English language teachers as a key figure in the formation of friendly atmosphere in English classes. The results indicates that students, who were involved in learning process based on Individual Situational Study, become more confident and motivated. It is concluded that Individual Situational Study is an important aspect in education. The use of this study provides opportunities to improve the speaking and listening skills, to increase the confident.
