| Abstract: | The paper elucidates the emotional state of characters in French fiction and the graphic means of its representation. It is established that the emotional speech is graphically reflected by the use of punctuation marks, italics, quotation marks. The most common graphic presentation of the character’s emotional state is the exclamation mark. |
