– С. 170-173.https://ela.kpi.ua/handle/123456789/62801Data centers are the backbone of the telecommunications industry.ITequipment consumes considerable amounts of energy, which is released inthe form of heat. In order to dissipate the generated heat, it is necessaryto use airconditioning systems whose task is to maintain appropriate airconditions inside the server room. The study proposes and analyses 4 variants for the modernization of thecooling system in terms of energy consumption. The modernized object isa server room with a total heat load of 1358 kW. In the facility there areinstalled air-conditioning cabinets, dating from 2005, based on directevaporation. In variants 1 and 3 it was decided to replace the existing air conditioningcabinets with newer models. In Option 3, the indoor air temperature wasfurther increased. In variants 2 and 4, it was decided to replace the existing solution with asystem based on chilled water and to use chillers with a free coolingfunction. In variant 4, as in variant 3, the air temperature in the serverroom was increased. The analysis carried out showed the greatest reduction in energyconsumption for variant 4 (51.51%). In case of the remaining variants, theenergy demand decreased by 11,11%; 19,76% and 34,60% respectivelyfor variants 1, 2 and 3, respectivelyendata centerenergy efficiencyfree coolingcoolingImproving energy efficiency for data centre coolingArticleС. 170-173620.910000-0001-7949-6907
