With the development of paper industry, gear as a key component in paper machine, the choice of its material and processing process directly affects the operating efficiency and service life of the equipment. Traditional metal gears are gradually replaced by plastic gears with the advantages of light weight, corrosion resistance and low cost due to the disadvantages of high weight, high cost, easy corrosion and easy tooth damage[1]. Therefore, the development of easily replaceable plastic gears to replace the original metal gears for the replacement of paper machine gears to bring great convenience, but also greatly reduce the replacement cost[2]. This bachelor's thesis firstly analysed the plastic gear belt of paper machine and the shape of the original grey cast iron gear, and decided to firstly take the process of removing the tooth material for the original grey cast iron gear hub, and processed the grey cast iron gear, in addition, we analysed the material selection of plastic gear, and chose the high-performance engineering plastics - nylon, which is applicable to the working environment of the paper machine as the processing material of the plastic gear belt[3], and fixed and mounted the gear on the original Grey cast iron hub on the basis of fixing and mounting, and the use of gear forming process, calculation and design of the processing tool in line with this gear - gear worm milling cutter, the plastic gear processing process research. In addition, this paper also discusses in detail the selection of machinery and equipment for gear processing, and selects the machinery and equipment that matches the processing of this workpiece, and through solidwork and other 3-dimensional design software, draws the three-dimensional parts drawing and two-dimensional parts drawing about the processing of this workpiece and the processing process flow chart. Finally, this study uses SolidWorks CNC to simulate the machining process, and develops the machining control program for the CNC machine tool of paper machine plastic gear. This thesis completes the entire process of paper machine plastic gear machining process, summarises the key elements of the design of paper machine plastic gear machining process, and the machining process designed in this paper significantly improves the service life and efficiency of the gears, and reduces the production cost and equipment maintenance frequency. In addition, this paper puts forward the direction of future improvement and development, in order to provide effective technical support and theoretical reference for the paper machine industry.
