    Facility management perspective on refurbishment of heritage building: life cycle analysis of protected building in Nedre Bakklandet 47

    Refurbishing historic buildings to achieve EU standard emission levels as for newly built ones is challenging. Most of the heritage buildings are made within regulation restrictions that hinder them from reaching such emission reduction levels without compromising their cultural heritage value. A full life cycle analysis perspective then needs to be put into this context so that zero carbon emission could be obtained by the protected building from the "early phase" of the construction. The study is conducted by making a life cycle analysis assessment of the Bakklandet Children's Asylum (Nedre Bakklandet 47A).
