    The role of swimming classes in the system of physical education of student youth is defined and the provision of their observance of the basics of a healthy lifestyle is considered. The methodological features of building swimming classes with students of higher educational institutions and their influence on the development of physical abilities and functional capabilities of the human body are analyzed.
