The division of responsibilities between the editor-in-chief, managing editor and
the editorial board of the scientific journal was studied. The importance of cooperation
and cohesion of the editorial team to achieve high standards of scientific publishing is
emphasized. The role of the members of editorial team in the formation of the journal’s
editorial policy is clarified, and their responsibility for the quality and scientific level of
publications is also emphasized. The process of decision-making in the editorial team is
described, regarding the selection of articles for publication. The mechanisms of interaction with authors and reviewers, as well as the influence of the editorial board on the
development of the scientific journal, are considered. The results of the study contribute
to a better understanding of the activities of editorial teams and may be useful for further improvement of scientific journals.
