dc.description.abstractotherThe paper is focused on the study of emotivity evoked by the gender identity in the lyrics of the Roman poet Gaius Valerius Catullus. Analysing an additional story about Ariadne, inserted into the main narration of the wedding of Peleus and Thetis (poem No. 64), the author examines linguistic features serving to express the emotional state of Ariadne, who experiences a whole range of feelings caused by being apart from her beloved Theseus. The author conveys the depth of feelings of a mythological woman through the use of language means that create emotional tension in the poetic text and reflect the psychological state of the heroine.
