dc.description.abstractotherThe paper develops a mathematical model of the pursuit process of a fleeing boat on a horizontal plane in a one-dimensional vector field of moving fluid with constraints on the fugitive’s movement. The model takes into account the speed of points in the vector field of the river’s current. Using the MathCad numerical method, the system of differential equations describing the pursuit trajectories is solved, and the equation of the pursuit curve is derived. The main characteristics of the curve are analyzed, and paradoxical phenomena that may affect the success of the escape are identified.
