dc.description.abstractenThe aim of this research is to analyze the evolution of the Ukrainian liberation movement as the area of scientific studies explored in the works of modern national historians published in the first half of the 80s — mid-90s of the XX century. The research methodology is based on the на principles of historicism, systematic approach, scientific objectivity, based on the usage of general scientific (analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization) and special historical (historical- genetic, chronological, comparative-historical, historical-typological) methods. The scientific novelty of this research is caused by the fact that the analysis which would have systematically covered the issue of the Ukrainian liberation movement is absent in modern national historiography. The authors identified the following trends in the highlighting of the activities of the Ukrainian liberation movement. Firstly, during 1988 – 1991 in the Ukrainian society drastic social changes took place, which resulted in the evolution of values among the national historians regarding the complex question of the historical past. Secondly, the policy of Glasnost which was initiated by Gorbachov resulted in cultivated the desire of putting the forgotten questions of the OUN and the UPA on the table. Thirdly, the publications of scientists were saturated with the anticipation of the forthcoming of opening the secret archives. Additionally, the general euphoric mode of the researchers’ writings alongside with naïve attitude regarding the perspectives of the further studies of the OUN and the UPA and the lack of critical analysis took place during the 80-90s. Fourth, the attempts of the Ukrainian parliament in 1993–1996 to launch an effective exploration of the activities of the OUN and UPA by initiating the establishment of governmental and temporary commissions did not yield the expected results. The reasons for this were the aggravation of the socio-economic crisis, the political confrontation and preparations for the forthcoming of presidential and parliamentary elections, and the lack of funding for the governmental research.uk
dc.description.abstractukУ статті аналізуєтся усталення проблематики українського визвольного руху як напряму наукових студій у працях сучасних вітчизняних істориків на тлі суспільно-політичних процесів другої половини 1980-х — середини 1990-х рр. Системно висвітлюються передумови вивчення, тематична спрямованість та проблеми в дослідженні історії суб’єктів українського визвольного руху кінця 1930-х — середини 1950-х рр. Простежуються етапи поступового зростання інтересу до вивчення історії національно-визвольної боротьби ОУН і УПА та потреби об’єктивної історичної та правової оцінки їх діяльності. Узагальнюються публікації, в яких увага науковців концентрувалася на висвітленні найбільш дискусійних питань історії українського визвольного руху: діяльності УПА, українсько-польських стосунків, взаємин ОУН з Німеччиною, боротьби з карально-репресивними органами радянського режиму.uk
