dc.description.abstractThe work outlines the significance of studying emotional utterances prosodic organization, its theoretical and practical application by both language learners and professionals. The work studies the interplay of different language means, the peculiarities of segmental and suprasegmental features and their role in actualization of emotional utterances, refusal utterances in particular. The paper also analyses recent advancements in understanding the prosodic organisation of refusal utterances and the role of pauses in prosodic organization of refusal utterances belonging to the classes of reasons “I can’t” and “I don’t want to”.
