dc.description.abstractenThe article is devoted to the commemorative practices of nationalist organizations of the Ukrainian diaspora as elements of cultural policy and means of forming historical memory. The aim of the article is to analyze the commemorative practices of nationalist organizations of the Ukrainian diaspora, their functions, significance and features. The study of commemoration is necessary and relevant for recreation of the history of the Ukrainian dias - pora, because it represents the cultural policy of nationalist organizations of foreign Ukrainians, its practical implementation and basic ideas, moral and ethical guidelines, conceptual vision of the historical past. Thus, the experience of the Ukrainian diaspora is also relevant to the current policy of memory in Ukraine, which is in the process of its formation. Methodological grounds of the study include general scientific methods and special historical methods, such as historical-typological method and historical-systematic method. An interdisciplinary approach is used with the adoption of methods of sociology and political science. The novelty of the study is determined by the use of archival materials, which are almost not included in the scientific circulation. The main types of memorial practices, the features of their content are determined on the basis of these materials. The analysis of the source base allowed us to draw conclusions about the main forms of commemorative practices. Such practices manifested in the processes of holding holidays as a symbolic reproduction of the past; celebrating anniversaries of important historical events as an occasion to rethink the past; installation of memorials; conducting «academies», which included visiting the burial place of leaders or giving public lectures on the activities of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, artistic events; publishing books, articles as the most accessible form of remembering the historical past. Commemorative practices helped to preserve the national identity of Ukrainians in exile and to establish a symbolic connection with the Motherland. Nationalist organizations did not develop a common line of memorial policy, as they had ideological differences, different assessments of historical figures and their activities.uk
dc.description.abstractukСтаттю присвячено комеморативним практикам націоналістичних організацій української діаспори як елементам культурної політики й засобам формування історичної пам’яті. На основі архівних матеріалів і завдяки широкому залученню пресових видань визначено основні види комеморативних практик та особливості їх змістовного наповнення. Особливу увагу приділено аналізу приводів для їх проведення: відзначення вагомих історичних подій і видатних особистостей відповідно до націоналістичного історичного наративу, вшанування травматичного досвіду нації, комеморація мілітарного досвіду націоналістичних організацій.uk
