Анотація
"English for academic communication. Publishing and Printing. Part 1" is the textbook for students of the second (master's) level of higher education, specialty G 20 "Publishing and Printing" of the Educational and Research Institute of Printing and Publishing. The purpose of the textbook is to develop the foreign language communicative competence of future specialists, to develop students' skills in working with foreign language literature and analysing professionally oriented texts, and to improve the effectiveness of teaching students English for professional purposes in oral and written communication. The publication consists of seven sections: “Commercial printing market outlook”, “Trends transforming the commercial printing outlook”, “Future skills and the workplace”, “The different stages of the development process”, “The challenges of print management”, “The different types of commercial printing”, “Professional society”. Each thematic section has a single structure. The developed exercises are aimed at improving writing and translation skills, as well as at forming students' lexical and grammatical knowledge. The proposed tasks help to learn the terminological vocabulary and increase students' motivation for using English in their future profession. The use of the textbook optimises the organisation of foreign language teaching in classroom, to develop professionally oriented English-language competencies in listening, speaking, reading and writing at a sufficient level of language proficiency, to develop creative and critical thinking skills of future specialists, as well as successful communication in situations of professional communication.
