Ная зроблено історіографічний аналіз напрямів, особливостей і проблем досліджень «м’якої сили» України 2008–2022 рр. Всі публікації цієї теми умовно розділені на три великі групи: 1) дослідження, присвячені українській «soft power» у державах; 2) праці, де аналізується іміджевий аспект «м’якої сили» України; 3) статті, де порушуються такі загальні питання, як складові, проблеми та можливості української «м’якої сили». Праці першої групи спираються на досить ґрунтовно розроблену методологію, чого не можна сказати про два інших аспекти. Проблеми досліджень так чи інакше пов’язані з невизначеністю предмету дослідження, його нечіткими рамками.uk
dc.description.abstractotherThe article explores the directions, features, and challenges in the research on Ukraine’s soft power from 2008 to 2022, primarily conducted by Ukrainian scholars. The study adopts a combination of the concept presented by American scholar J. Nye and a historical approach. Publications on this topic are categorized into three groups: 1) studies on Ukraine’s soft power in various states; 2) analyses focusing on the image aspect of Ukrainian soft power; 3) articles addressing general issues such as the possibilities, components, and challenges of Ukraine’s soft power. The countries where Ukraine’s soft power is most extensively studied include Romania, Poland, Moldova, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. The research in this field relies on a well-developed methodology, which is not consistently applied to other aspects, with the exception of economic image power. Neglecting methodological and theoretical foundations has led to certain shortcomings in the studies on Ukrainian soft power, including: 1) substituting the study subject by equating soft power with interstate collaboration; 2) using the term «soft power» in the title without subsequent utilization in the study; 3) lacking a unified approach to soft power instruments; 4) equating soft power with cultural diplomacy; 5) arbitrarily using the term «soft power strategy of Ukraine», not officially documented; 6) identifying soft power with economic sanctions, which are a part of hard power. These issues stem from the ambiguity of the study subject and its unclear framework. The absence of normative support for Ukraine’s soft power policy, a state strategy, and the prolonged lack of specialized institutions for effective implementation complicate the research landscape. Future research areas may include studying Ukraine’s soft power in additional states beyond those mentioned and further clarifying the role of the Ukrainian diaspora as a crucial element of Ukraine’s soft power abroad. Additionally, conducting a historiographical analysis of the discourse on the relationship between «soft power», «public diplomacy», «cultural diplomacy», and «state image» would be equally valuable.uk
