dc.description.abstractВивчення історії повсякдення України та Львова, зокрема, в перші роки після відновлення незалежності 1991 р. Дає змогу глибше зрозуміти соціальні та культурні зміни, які формували життя суспільства, його щоденні практики, звички, побут, цінності та адаптацію до політичних і економічних викликів. Стаття є аналітичним оглядом львівської преси 1991–1996 рр., як важливого джерела для дослідження цих змін, оскільки газети віддзеркалювали реалії життя та настрої львів’ян у контексті нових соціокультурних умов.
dc.description.abstractotherStudying the history of everyday life in Ukraine and Lviv, in particular, in the first years after the restoration of independence in 1991, allows for a deeper un-derstanding of the social and cultural changes that shaped society’s life, its daily practices, habits, lifestyle, values, and adaptation to political and economic chal-lenges. The article is an analytical review of the Lviv press in 1991–1996, serving as an important source for studying these changes, since newspapers reflected the realities of Lviv residents’ lives in the context of new socio-cultural conditions. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the materials of the leading Lviv news-papers from the studied period: «Vysoky Zamok», «Express», «Moloda Halychy-na», «Post-Postup», «Ratusha», «For Free Ukraine», etc. The study examines their coverage of everyday problems, cultural and social interactions, as well as economic and political changes that affected the lives of city residents, and ana-lyzes and presents the periodicals as a source.Scientific novelty of the research. For the first time, a comprehensive analysis of Lviv newspapers from 1991 to 1996, their source value as a whole and their importance for the study of everyday life, has been carried out. The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism and objectivity, with gen-eral scientific and special historical methods employed: problem-chronological, systematization, comparison, visual perception, critical analysis of sources, and anthropological methods.Conclusions. As a result of the research, it was established that the Lviv press of that period played a crucial role in documenting and analyzing the key chal-lenges faced by the city’s residents. The newspapers not only provided information but also helped shape public opinion on economic difficulties, the rise in crime, water supply issues, and public transportation problems. Cultural events also held a significant place in the press, contributing to the development of Lviv’s cultural environment.
