dc.description.abstractСудноплавство по Дніпру, найбільшій водній транспортній магістралі України, залишається актуальною темою для досліджень. Особливо цікавий період — друга половина ХІХ — початок ХХ ст. — час, коли пароплавство розвивалося найактивніше. За останні роки інтерес до цієї проблеми суттєво зріс у зв’язку з відродженням вантажних і пасажирських перевезень річкою. Одним з малодосліджених питань історії судноплавства по Дніпру імперської доби залишається створення та функціонування Андрушівської пристані поблизу м. Переяслава Полтавської губ. Це питання побіжно порушувалось у низці робіт з гідрології, географії, судноплавства, історії міста Переяслава, однак об’єктом спеціального дослідження досі не стало. У статті на основі щорічних постанов і звітів Переяславських земських зборів та Переяславської земської управи, праць з гідрології, географії, судноплавства висвітлено історію виникнення Андрушівської пароплавної пристані на Дніпрі поблизу м. Переяслава Полтавської губ. та її функціонування у другій половині ХІХ — на початку ХХ ст. З’ясовано джерельний комплекс дослідження, охарактеризовано особливості пристані, визначено вантажообіг, окреслено основні проблеми у її функціонуванні та коло питань, які потребують подальшого наукового осмислення.
dc.description.abstractotherNavigation on the Dnipro, Ukraine’s largest waterway, remains a signif-icant research topic. The period from the second half of the 19th to the early 20th century represents the most active phase of shipping development. Recent years have witnessed renewed interest in this subject, driven by the revival of freight and passenger traffic on the river. Among the least-studied aspects of navigation during the imperial era is the creation and operation of the An-drushivka pier near Pereyaslav in Poltava province. While briefly mentioned in works on hydrology, geography, shipping, and local history, this pier has not yet been the subject of a comprehensive historical investigation. Based on annual resolutions, Zemstvo reports, and scholarly works in hydrology, geogra-phy, and shipping, this article explores the history and operational dynamics of the Andrushivka steamship pier on the Dnipro River, located near Pereyaslav in Poltava province during the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The research clarifies the source base, characterizes the pier’s distinctive features, assesses its cargo turnover, identifies key operational challenges, and delineates areas requiring further scholarly investigation.The Andrushivka pier was among the oldest and most renowned Dnipro piers. It entered the history of Dnipro navigation in the 17th–19th centuries as a «bread pier,» playing a crucial role in the region’s wholesale grain trade. Most contem-porary publications documented the priority of grain goods in the pier’s cargo turnover and the active participation of local Jews in these operations. With the development of steamship navigation on the Dnipro in the 1840–1850s, the An-drushivka pier also gained passenger transportation significance.The specifics of organizing transport and passenger services through the An-drushivka pier were primarily determined by a limited navigation period, the ab-sence of a stable pier location, distance from Pereyaslav, and inconvenient land access routes. Overall, the Dnipro section near the Andrushivka pier was quite challenging for navigation. Dangerous conditions were created by stone obstacles, numerous shallow areas, sandy banks, the unsystematic river current, and its divi-sion into multiple branches and lakes. The most significant problem in the pier’s functioning was the transportation of cargo and passengers during spring floods. Further study of the topic could be directed towards researching the access routes to the pier, upon which its operation largely depended.
