dc.description.abstractЄС – союз, члени якого перебувають на різних стадіях інтеграції, що створює виклики для ефективного функціонування найрозвиненішого інтеграційного об’єднання у світі, який поступово втрачає позиції порівняно із іншими регіональними інтеграційними об’єднаннями в умовах глобальної торговельної невизначеності. На сучасному етапі розвитку ЄС поєднує в собі риси як федеративних, так і конфедеративних утворень, а також містить елементи наднаціональної міжнародної організації. Публікацію присвячено аналізу експорту та імпорту товарів ЄС та обґрунтуванню необхідності підвищення конкурентоспроможності ЄС як шляхом розроблення та імплементації єдиної політики: торговельної, безпекової, індустріальної, монетарної, фіскальної тощо, так і завдяки посиленню наднаціональності в ЄС й удосконаленню якості функціонування наднаціональних органів управління. Використано загальнонаукові та спеціальні методи дослідження, серед яких: метод експертних оцінок, методи порівняльного, статистичного аналізу тощо. Інформаційну базу роботи становлять офіційні публікації ЮНКТАД, наукові праці дослідників. Зміцнення наднаціональності в ЄС є основою формування його суверенітету як єдиного цілого, що підвищуватиме конкурентоспроможність ЄС в умовах глобальної торговельної невизначеності.
dc.description.abstractotherThe objective of this publication is to analyze the dynamics of the EU merchandise exports and merchandise imports, as well as to substantiate the need to enhance the EU's competitiveness both by elaborating and implementing a common and single EU policy across various sectors, e.g.: trade, security, industrial, monetary, fiscal, etc., and by strengthening supranationality in the EU. The member states of the EU are at different integration stages which creates challenges for the effective functioning of the most integrated bloc as a single entity in the world economy. Amid global turbulence the EU is gradually losing ground compared to other key leading countries and regional integration groups: the calculations reveal that the EU’s share of popula-tion, GDP, trade in goods over 2015–2024 in the world has been declining. It is emphasized in the documents that the EU trade policy is elaborated to benefit the EU businesses, farmers, consumers; to promote open, rules-based trade between the EU and non-EU countries with the aim of reducing the economic dependencies on non-EU countries and to ensure the global supply chains are working for prosperity of the EU thereby helping to increase the EU's economic security. At present the EU represents a unique and hybrid system which combines the features of both federal and confederal entities, as well as the elements of the supranational international organization. While the EU has a central government and federal institutions that exercise author-ity over member states, the countries themselves retain substantial national sovereignty and control over the EU’s fundamental treaties, which is a key characteristic of a confederation. It is substantiated that the EU should evolve towards federation rather than confederation in order to survive amid trade uncertainty. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study is the fun-damental provisions of modern economic theory and the works of leading Ukrainian and foreign scholars. General scientific and special research methods have been employed, including expert assessments, comparative and statistical analysis. The main conclusion is that the strengthening of supranationality in the EU should serve the basis for forming its sovereignty as a single entity which will ultimately contribute to more solid position in the global economy amid trade turbulence
