Анотація
The coursebook Voices and Ideas: English for Modern Learners is designed for second-year students of the educational programme Germanic Languages and Literatures (including Translation), primary – English, and aims to support the comprehensive development of foreign language communicative competence. The coursebook reflects current educational approaches focused on the improvement of students’ language skills and abilities across various types of communicative activity. It is intended to develop the level of English language proficiency necessary for effective intercultural interaction and successful communication in academic, professional, and everyday contexts, while also fostering critical and analytical thinking. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of authentic texts and on the practical application of language knowledge in communicative situations. The coursebook comprises four thematic modules – History, Live and Learn, Planet Issues, and The Cycles of Life. The materials may be used both for classroom instruction and for independent, individual, or group work. The book is intended for learners whose level of English corresponds to CEFR level B2+ and contributes to the enhancement of students’ linguistic, sociocultural, and academic competences.
