The paper deals with the problem of phonetic interference in the process of studying French language. Attention is drawn to the fact that at the initial stage of learning a foreign language, the most common is phonetic interference, which is influenced by sound and intonation systems of the language. Examples and ways to avoid phonetic errors in student speech are also given.
