Ігоря Сікорського, 2020) Варецька, Ольга ОлегівнаThe paper represents the use of the ELAN software package for annotating critical co-speech gestures in the speech of German and Ukrainian politicians. The study develops a model for a two-way comparison and suggests that verbal and paraverbal means of expressing political criticism, depend, on the one hand, on the speaker’s individual characteristics (age, gender, social status, emotional state, rhetorical competence, etc.) and, on the other hand, have their own ethnic specificity and are determined by the cultural traditions of political criticism in the public discourse of Germany and Ukraine. The research shows that gestural accentuation is independent of the key critic-words, however we registered the use of gestures by politicians who point to the object of criticism, usually with the index finger or the open palm of the right hand.Документ Відкритий доступ Spectral Characteristics of the Lithuanian Obstruents According to Gender: Preliminary Results of Experimental Research(КПІ ім. Ігоря Сікорського, 2020) Urbanavičienė, JolitaA different physiological structure has an impact on the apparatus of male and female voices and the articulation apparatus. The aim of the paper is to compare acoustic features of the consonants pronounced by males and females and to determine which differences depend on the gender of an announcer, and which are related to the individual articulation of the announcers. Three acoustic features are investigated: 1) duration of the release phase; 2) frequency of the spectral peak; 3) relative intensity. The investigation shows that the only parameter – frequency of the spectral peak – can be related to the announcers’ gender.Документ Відкритий доступ Voice Recognition Techniques: Voiceprint(КПІ ім. Ігоря Сікорського, 2020) Petljutschenko, NataljaThis paper presents a methodology for identification of the charismatic characteristics in the prosody and gesture of potential grassroots politicians. The important point here is the moment of the first public attribution of charisma, i.e. the initial recognition of a public person as a charismatic leader in media or in social networks. Discursive portrayal of potential charismatic leaders in German and Ukrainian grassroots initiatives and singling out of their contrastive features are based on four parameters (biological, social, psychological, discursive) that form their charismatic discourse portraits.
