Анотація
The article focuses on the study of the works of leading Polish ethnographers
of the late 19th to early 20th centuries, including Leopold Waigel, Oskar Kolberg,
Ksawery Mroczko and Józef Schnaider, who made significant contributions to
the research of the traditional culture of Ukrainians in Pokuttia and their winter calendar rituals. The article highlights the unique features of the works of these
scientists, the range of issues they addressed related to the winter cycle traditions
and rituals, and the territorial focus of their research. The study also emphasizes
the local characteristics of the traditions and rituals of different parts of Pokuttia
as an ethnographical region of Ukraine.
