dc.description.abstractУ статті представлені результати дослідження, яке було спрямоване на аналіз особливостей висвітлення російсько-української війни в іспанських медіа та визначення тенденцій, що склалися там у наданні інформації про війну за останні два роки. У статті також обговорюються теоретичні підходи до розуміння ролі медіа в умовах війни та їх вплив на формування громадської думки, зокрема теорія гейткіпінгу та теорія порядку денного. Мета дослідження полягала у виявленні ключових характеристик висвітлення подій в Україні, таких як жанрова структура публікацій, використання експертних думок, точність транслітерації українських топонімів та використання коректної термінології для опису російсько-української війни. Для досягнення поставленої мети було проведено контент-аналіз публікацій про війну в Україні у провідних іспанських виданнях. Застосовувалися такі методи дослідження: порівняння, систематизація, узагальнення, контент-аналіз та системний аналіз.
dc.description.abstractotherThe article presents the results of a study aimed at analyzing the features of coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian war in the Spanish media and identifying trends in providing information about the war over the past two years. The article also discusses theoretical approaches to understanding the role of the media in wartime and their influence on the formation of public opinion, in particular, the theory of gatekeeping and the theory of the agenda.The study’s purpose was to identify key characteristics of coverage of events in Ukraine, such as the genre structure of publications, the use of expert opinions, the accuracy of transliteration of Ukrainian toponyms, and the use of correct terminology to describe the Russian-Ukrainian war.To achieve this goal, a content analysis of publications about the war in Ukraine in leading Spanish publications was conducted. The following research methods were used: comparison, systematization, generalization, content analysis, and system analysis. The content analysis allowed us to identify quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the coverage of events in Ukraine, while system analysis contributed to establishing relationships between different elements of the information field, allowing us to identify long-term trends in the provision of information about Ukraine. The study’s results showed that the coverage of the war in Ukraine in the Spanish media has its own characteristics and dynamics. Both positive trends were identified, such as improving the accuracy of transliteration of Ukrainian toponyms, and negative ones, such as the use of incorrect terminology and a decrease in the number of publications about the Russian-Ukrainian war.The results obtained are important for understanding the processes of public opinion formation in Spain regarding current events in Ukraine, as well as for developing effective communication strategies of Ukrainian media with the Spanish audience and countering disinformation. Also, understanding the characteristics of the coverage of the war in the Spanish media can contribute to establishing cooperation with Spanish journalists and editorial offices.
