Анотація
The coursebook Practice of Translation. Social Sciences. Part 1 is designed for fourth-year students of the educational programme Germanic Languages and Literatures (including translation), primary – English, and aims to support the systematic development of professional translation competence. It reflects current principles of higher education, which emphasise continuous engagement in practical translation activities and the integration of theoretical knowledge with authentic tasks. The book comprises seven units – Human Resources, Organisations, Change, Corporate Social Responsibility, Governance, Startups, and Resources – carefully aligned with the approved curriculum of the subject. Each unit provides opportunities for intensive classroom practice and structured independent work, allowing students to apply their linguistic knowledge and translation strategies effectively and purposefully. The materials are suitable for learners whose level of English corresponds to CEFR level C1. By working consistently with the proposed texts and tasks, students refine their analytical and linguistic skills, improve their command of academic and professional registers, and deepen their understanding of translation as a professional and academic activity.
