dc.description.abstractother | The objective of this Bachelor's study was to construct a prosthetic hand using 3D printing technology, enabling control through Electromyography signals from the forearm. The loss of upper limbs for amputees results in various implications, encompassing physical, social, economic, and psychological aspects. This device is designed to assist individuals who have experienced hand loss due to accidents, illnesses, or congenital abnormalities in their day-to-day tasks. In this thesis, the device will be attached to the patient’s forearm to replace the lost hand. A prototypeprosthesis was created which has basic hand functionality. The prosthesis integrated DCand PWM motors, force sensors and myoelectric sensors. Three electrodes read the Electromyographysignal will be attached in forearm to control the hand. There are five separate DC motors tocontrols each finger and one servo motor to control the rotation of the wrist. A touch sensorwill be attached in the tips of prosthetic model’s fingers to estimate the pressure that theprosthetic grip applies on the holding object. There will be a feedback loop from the touchsensor. Thefinaloutcome isacompleteprosthesisthatmettheinitialdesignrequirementsandcanperformbasic hand functionality. Purpose: todevelop3D printed prosthetic hand which canbe controlled by an Electromyographysignal from the forearm. Toachievethisgoal, thefollowingtasksweredefined: – choose hand model – design a new attachment to the patients’ upper hand, – choose and modification servomotor, – create electronics circuit block diagram, – choose Electromyography Signal Processing Method and Algorithm. | uk |
