dc.description.abstractСтаття присвячена питанням відтворення міфонімів та мілітарних термінів на прикладах перекладів творів Дж. Р. Р. Толкіна українською мовою. У статті висвітлені та проаналізовані перекладацькі рішення щодо адаптації міфонімів для української читацької аудиторії на основі оригіналу та перекладів українською мовою творів Дж. Р. Р. Толкіна «Гобіт» і трилогії «Володар перснів». Також наведено класифікацію досліджуваних одиниць та найчастотніші перекладацькі трансформації, застосовні для їх адекватного відтворення мовою перекладу. Наведені кількісні та якісні результати проведеного дослідження.
dc.description.abstractotherThe article is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of mythonyms and military terms on the examples of various translations of the works of J. R. R. Tolkien into Ukrainian. The paper highlights and analyzes the motives for implementing translation decisions regarding the adaptation of the phenomenon of mythonyms for the Ukrainian audience based on the original and translations into Ukrainian of the works «The Hobbit» and the trilogy «The Lord of the Rings». This paper also examines the differences between different translations of books and their impact on understanding the context and mood of the work. The researchers consider the importance of correct translation for understanding Tolkien's mythological world, as well as the features of mythonyms in translation. The authors draw special attention to the military terms used in the studied texts considering two types of military terms used in the fantasy texts, namely, reality-based military terms (used in real world) and fantasy military terms (invented by the writer).
