dc.description.abstractМагістерська дисертація складається зі вступу, трьох розділів, висновків до кожного з розділів, загальних висновків, списку використаних джерел (59 джерел), одного додатку (Додаток А). Загальний обсяг дисертації складає 144 сторінки. Актуальність роботи зумовлена зростанням інтересу до дослідження мовно–прагматичних засобів самоідентифікації сучасної жінки у феміністично–орієнтованому англомовному кінодискурсі в перекладознавчому аспекті. Об’єктом дослідження є фрагменти англомовних художніх фільмів, у яких проявляються гендерні стереотипи. Предметом дослідження є мовні засоби самоідентифікації сучасної жінки у феміноцентричному англомовному кінодискурсі з погляду перекладознавства. Досягнення поставленої мети передбачає вирішення наступних завдань: –з’ясувати підходи та проблематику визначення поняття гендеру; –вивчити стратегії гендерної ідентифікації; –з’ясувати маскулінні та фемінні гендерні маркери в сучасній лінгвістиці; –виявити гендерні маркери самоідентифікації як перекладацьку проблему; –проаналізувати феміноцентричний кінодискурс як об’єкт лінгвістичного дослідження; –визначити лінгвопрагматичні характеристики самоідентифікації жінки у феміноцентричному англомовному кіно дискурсі; –дослідити мовні засоби самоідентифікації жінки у феміноцентричному англомовному кіно дискурсі; –визначити позамовні особливості феміноцентричного англомовного кінодискурсу; –проаналізувати закономірності відтворення лінгвопрагматичних засобів самоідентифікації жінки у феміноцентричному англомовному кінодискурсі засобами української мови. Теоретичне та практичне значення. Результати проведеної роботи можуть бути застосовані у подальшому дослідженні зміни репрезентації жіночих образів у візуальній культурі. Проведене дослідження стрижневого ідеалотворчого напряму у світовому кіно може стати основою аналізу альтернативних форм репрезентації образу жінки в кінематографі інших країн, зокрема українського кіно. Аналітичний матеріал, отриманий в результаті дослідження, може бути застосований для укладання цілісної наукової розробки теми мовних засобів самоідентифікації сучасної жінки у феміноцентричному англомовному кінодискурсі у перекладознавчому аспекті. Матеріалом дослідження послугували 300 лексичних одиниць із англомовних постановочних кінофільмів та їх україномовні дубльовані версії (“Sex and the City”, “Coco Chanel”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Friends”). У роботі використовувалися такі методи дослідження, як: 1) метод аналізу та синтезу теоретичного матеріалу для узагальнення результатів зарубіжних та вітчизняних гендерних досліджень; 2) метод суцільної вибірки, що дозволяє відібрати гендерно релевантні висловлювання, що ілюструють мовні прояви гендеру в англомовному кінодискурсі; 3) описово–аналітичний, що передбачає спостереження, аналіз та класифікацію мовних явищ, а також порівняння отриманих результатів з метою виявлення загальних та специфічних мовних механізмів конструювання фемінності в дискурсі британських та американських кінофільмів; 4) метод дискурсивного аналізу для розгляду висловлювань у контексті всього кінодискурсу; 5) перекладознавчий метод; 6) кількісний аналіз визначення частотності мовних проявів ґендера у кінодискурсі британських та американських кінофільмів. Наукова новизна роботи полягає у з’ясуванні маскулінних та фемінних гендерних маркерів у сучасній лінгвістиці; у виявленні гендерних маркерів самоідентифікації жінки у англомовному кінодискурсі в аспекті перекладу. Апробація результатів. Результати магістерського дослідження представлено на науково-практичній конференції: XXIII Міжнародної науково–практичної онлайн конференції здобувачів вищої освіти та молодих учених «Science and Technology of the XXI century». Доповідь на тему: “Linguopragmatic means of self–identification of a modern woman in a feminist English–language film discourse: a translational aspect”. Публікації. Результати наукового дослідження було представлено у науковій статті, опублікованій у фахову збірнику України: фаховий збірник України наукових праць «Studia Linguistica» на тему «Лінгвопрагматичні засоби самоідентифікації жінки у феміноцентричному англомовному кінодискурсі: перекладознавчий аспект». У практичній частині було проведено кількісний аналіз способів перекладу лінгвопрагматичних засобів ідентифікації жінки на основі серіалів “Sex and the City”, “Desperate Housewives” та з’ясовано, що за загальними показниками перекладацьких трансформацій найчастіше вживаною є лексична (50%), граматична (43%) та лексико-граматична (7%). За показниками лексичних трансформацій виокремлено наступне: конкретизація зустрічається частіше, становлячи 28%, на п’ять відсотків менше зустрічається генералізація, з 21% бачимо транслітерацію, калькування — 17%, та модуляція — 11% досліджуваних прикладів. За загальними показниками граматичних трансформацій, було підсумувано: додавання становить 45%, опущення — 29%, та заміна 26%. За загальними показниками лексико-граматичних трансформацій, можна констатувати, що антонімічний переклад вживається у 37%, опущення зустрічається у 34%, та описовий переклад можна простежити тільки у 29% досліджуваних прикладах самоідентифікації жінки в кінодискурсі.uk
dc.description.abstractenThe master’s thesis consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusions to each of the chapers, general conclusions, a list of used sources (59 sources) and one appendix (Appendix A). The total volume of the dissertation is 144 pages. The master’s thesis is devoted to the study of linguopragmatic means of self–identification of a woman in the feminocentric English-language film discourse. The material for the analysis was the following series of English–language production films and their Ukrainian–language dubbed versions — “Sex and the City”, “Coco Chanel”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Friends”. The relevance of the work is due to the growing interest in the study of language–pragmatic means of self–identification of a modern woman in the feminist–oriented English–language film discourse in the aspect of translation studies. The object of the research is fragments of English–language feature films in which gender stereotypes are manifested. The subject of the study is the linguistic means of self–identification of a modern woman in the feminocentric English–language film discourse from the perspective of translation studies. Achieving the set goal involves solving the following tasks: – to find out the approaches and problems of defining the concept of gender; – study gender identification strategies; – find out masculine and feminine gender markers in modern linguistics; – identify gender markers of self–identification as a translation problem; – to analyze the feminocentric film discourse as an object of linguistic research; – to determine the linguo–pragmatic characteristics of a woman’s self–identification in the feminocentric English–language cinema discourse; – to investigate the linguistic means of self–identification of a woman in the feminist–centric English–language cinema discourse; – to determine the extra-linguistic features of the feminino-centric English-language film discourse; – to analyze the regularities of the reproduction of the linguopragmatic means of self–identification of a woman in the feminist–centric English–language film discourse by the means of the Ukrainian language. Theoretical and practical significance. The results of the work can be applied in the further study of changes in the representation of female images in visual culture. The conducted study of the core idealistic direction in world cinema can become the basis of the analysis of alternative forms of representation of the image of a woman in the cinema of other countries, in particular Ukrainian cinema. Analytical material obtained as a result of the research can be used to compile a holistic scientific development of the topic of language means of self–identification of a modern woman in the feminocentric English-language film discourse in the aspect of translation studies. The material of the study was 300 lexical items from English–language production films and their Ukrainian-language dubbed versions (“Sex and the City”, “Coco Chanel”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Friends”). The work used such research methods as: 1) method of analysis and synthesis of theoretical material for summarizing the results of foreign and domestic gender studies; 2) the continuous sampling method, which allows selecting gender–relevant statements that illustrate linguistic manifestations of gender in English–language film discourse; 3) descriptive–analytical, which involves the observation, analysis and classification of linguistic phenomena, as well as the comparison of the obtained results in order to identify general and specific linguistic mechanisms of the construction of femininity in the discourse of British and American films; 4) the method of discursive analysis to consider statements in the context of the entire film discourse; 5) translation method; 6) quantitative analysis of determining the frequency of linguistic manifestations of gender in the film discourse of British and American films. The scientific novelty of the work consists in clarifying masculine and feminine gender markers in modern linguistics; in identifying gender markers of female self-identification in English-language film discourse in the aspect of translation. Approbation of the results. The results of the master’s research were presented at the scientific and practical conference: the XXIII International scientific and practical online conference of higher education graduates and young scientists “Science and Technology of the XXI century”. Report on the topic: “Linguopragmatic means of self–identification of a modern woman in a feminist English–language film discourse: a translational aspect”. Publications. The results of the scientific research were presented in a scientific article published in the professional collection of Ukraine: the professional collection of scientific works of Ukraine “Studia Linguistica” on the topic: “Linguopragmatic means of self–identification of women in feministic English–language film discourse: a translational aspect.” In the practical part, a quantitative analysis of the ways of translating linguo–pragmatic means of identifying a woman based on the series “Sex and the City”, “Desperate Housewives” was carried out and it was found that according to the general indicators of translation transformations, the most often used are lexical (50%), grammatical (43 %) and lexical and grammatical (7%). According to the indicators of lexical transformations, the following is highlighted: concretization is more common, making up 28%, generalization is five percent less common, with 21% of transliteration, calque — 17%, and modulation — 11% of the studied examples. According to the general indicators of grammatical transformations, it was summarized: addition is 45%, omission — 29%, and substitution 26%. According to the general indicators of lexical and grammatical transformations, it can be stated that antonymic translation is used in 37%, omission is found in 34%, and descriptive translation can be traced only in 29% of the studied examples of women’s self–identification in film discourse.uk
