dc.description.abstractУ кваліфікаційній роботі розглянуто поняття та класифікація метафор у медичній термінології, здійснено теоретико-методологічне обґрунтування особливостей використання медичних метафор для позначення психічних захворювань, з’ясовано роль медичних метафор у формуванні суспільного сприйняття психічних захворювань, проаналізовано джерела та методи збору англомовних медичних метафор та обґрунтовано типові медичні метафори на позначення психічних захворювань в англійській мові, виявлено функції та вплив англомовних медичних метафор на соціокультурний контекст, встановлено вплив перекладу медичних метафор на українське суспільне сприйняття психічних захворювань. Наукова новизна роботи полягає у систематичному дослідженні англомовних медичних метафор для позначення психічних захворювань та виявленні специфіки їхнього відтворення в українській мові. Вперше здійснено комплексний аналіз перекладацьких стратегій, які застосовуються для передачі медичних метафор у сфері психічного здоров'я, з урахуванням культурних та лінгвістичних відмінностей між англійською та українською мовами. Результати дослідження сприяють поглибленню розуміння впливу культурного контексту на процес перекладу медичних текстів, а також можуть бути використані для вдосконалення методик навчання професійних перекладачів у медичній галузі. Практичне значення роботи полягає у можливості застосування отриманих результатів для вдосконалення практики медичного перекладу, зокрема в сфері психічного здоров'я. Розроблені рекомендації щодо перекладу медичних метафор можуть бути використані професійними перекладачами, викладачами та студентами перекладацьких спеціальностей, а також медичними працівниками, які взаємодіють з англомовними текстами. Крім того, результати дослідження можуть сприяти покращенню комунікації між лікарями та пацієнтами з різних культурних середовищ, забезпечуючи більш точне та зрозуміле сприйняття медичної інформації. Апробація результатів дослідження. Основні методологічні, теоретичні результати і концептуальні положення дослідження були обговорені на Міжнародній науково-практичній конференції «Science and Technology of the XXI Century» (4 грудня 2024 року) із друком тез: Rudenko К. dc.description.abstractotherEnglish-language medical metaphors for mental illnesses and means of their reproduction in the Ukrainian language. Qualification work on manuscript rights. Dissertation for obtaining a master's degree in specialty 035 "Philology". KPI named after Igor Sikorsky, Kyiv, 2024. In the qualification work, the concept and classification of metaphors in medical terminology is considered, the theoretical and methodological justification of the peculiarities of the use of medical metaphors to denote mental illnesses is carried out, the role of medical metaphors in the formation of public perception of mental illnesses is clarified, the sources and methods of collecting English language medical metaphors are analyzed and the typical ones are substantiated medical metaphors for the designation of mental illnesses in the English language, the functions and influence of English-language medical metaphors on the sociocultural context were revealed, the influence of the translation of medical metaphors on the Ukrainian public perception of mental illnesses was established. The scientific novelty of the work consists in the systematic study of English-language medical metaphors for the designation of mental illnesses and the identification of the specifics of their reproduction in the Ukrainian language. For the first time, a comprehensive analysis of translation strategies used to convey medical metaphors in the field of mental health has been carried out, taking into account the cultural and linguistic differences between English and Ukrainian languages. The results of the study contribute to deepening the understanding of the influence of the cultural context on the process of translation of medical texts, and can also be used to improve the training methods of professional translators in the medical field. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of applying the obtained results to improve the practice of medical translation, in particular in the field of mental health. The developed guidelines for the translation of medical metaphors can be used by professional translators, teachers and students of translation specialties, as well as medical professionals who interact with English language texts. In addition, the results of the study can contribute to the improvement of communication between doctors and patients from different cultural backgrounds, ensuring a more accurate and understandable perception of medical information.
